Eco-friendly hike through Aruba's mangroves
Come explore the mangroves & gold smelter ruins at Spanish Lagoon
This casual hike combines culture, history, vantage points and nature, as you follow your private local guide through Aruba’s famous Spanish lagoon. It’s a wonderful introduction to hiking on Aruba. Let us share some history of the Balashi gold mill ruins, built at Spanish Lagoon in 1899. Take your time to admire the view, then venture into the mangroves and surrounding hills to enjoy the pristine nature and look around for Aruba’s local plants & birds.
The Balashi Gold Mill Ruins are a common stop for tourists, but few people know about the beautiful nature trail nearby. Our private local guide will lead you through the mangroves in an eco-friendly way, pointing out the local plants and animals. We’ll help you see a different side of Aruba. Away from tourist traps and off the beaten path.
This is an all-inclusive activity. Just bring some hiking clothes, sturdy shoes and a hat. We'll take care of everything else.
